For Max3, Note2, Nova2, Poke2 and previous models
Since the release of V3.0 Firmware’s new features on Max Lumi and Note Air, many users have been waiting for their firmware updates.
Based on the beta test group’s feedback and suggestions, we’ve eliminated some bugs, improved many features, and well prepared for the mass release. We highly appreciate the BOOX users in the beta test group 🧡.
After the V3.0 Firmware update package for Max3, Note2, Nova2, and Poke2, we’re happy to release the V3.0 Firmware changelog & packages for more previous models. You can update your device via OTA (Settings>Firmware Update) or download the package and install it manually.

Highlight on Right to left epub or pdf still displaying in the wrong direction. Please fix this as I’ve been waiting for this to be fixed fo a along time.

Thanks for your feedback. As this is the first time we add Arabic/Hebrew language to our tablets, some bugs may need improvements. Can you please submit this feedback through your device? In this way, our tech staff will receive your valuable voice directly and collect information about your device’s Mac address and log. So they can determine if it’s a common issue requiring a mass firmware update or a random problem that can be solved with a custom fixing package sent directly to your device.

Support for screencapture (screenrecord, or scrcpy) is still missing for note 2. This is a very necessary feature for today’s work from home tasks for lecturers and scientists. Please, put some effort in this. This devices are not exactly cheap. I’m a Linux programmer with a lot of system programming experience. I can help with alpha and beta testing if you need.

Note2’s limitation makes it difficult to support our native wireless screencast feature. However, as Note2 is an advanced E Ink tablet running Android 9, you can use some third-party apps, such as Anydesk, to achieve screen mirroring. If we have any breakthrough regarding the Note2 built-in screencast feature, we’ll announce it immediately. Thank you for your feedback and please stay tuned.

I have a note + and can’t wait for the update to 3.0. I get the notification that there is an update but it fails to download and on the site I can’t find a link…
You need to stop teasing me like that 🤣. Can you give me the link so I can download the update?

Unfortunately, we found some bugs for the Note+ package in the beta batch and we’re now working on them. Please bear with us for troubleshooting time. Once a better version is released, you can download it via OTA or at our downloads page. You’re always welcome to keep an eye on our social media for any news updates.

We’ve checked with our tech staff and confirmed that the link for Note Pro V3.0 package is correct. Since your device cannot recognize the package, can you please try to download it again and double-check if you’ve clicked the correct link? If it doesn’t help either, you can check updates OTA to download the package wirelessly.

Hi! I can’t seem to find the option for ruled and dotted paper anymore, in the note taking function of Nova2?

As we introduce layers since the V3.0 firmware, the template is set as part of the layer feature. So you can tap the layer button and find all the template paper in the first layer. You can check out this article to learn more about layer and template changes.

Happy owner of a MAX Lumi,
I would also really appreciate the support for scrcpy (https://github.com/Genymobile/scrcpy) because it works on linux and it would make it possible to use the MAX Lumi as an additional input device while teaching.
For now it only freezes like metioned in the following issues: https://github.com/Genymobile/scrcpy/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+onyx
If that is fixed, I could easily recommend the device to the other collegues as well (:

Hello!
Been very satisfied with the Note so far. Only thing, that got fixed in an earlier update but is back now:
Erased writing remains where it crossed the template lines in the notes app. So every time I erase something, I need to do a full refresh to have the background appear properly again. Interestingly, doesn´t happen when deleting the very same writing with the select tool.
This is a real nuisance to me and has also been pointed out at an earlier stage here
